This week's song is "Gone Country" by Alan Jackson.
"Gone Country" is a classic story about a city girl and a country boy. The girl realizes that she doesn't enjoy what the city has to offer. Not to mention she's not getting any younger. So she decides to take a chance and try herself out in the country. The boy commutes the city, but the hustle and bustle isn't the life for him. So he sticks to his roots. Showing that everyone has a little country living in them. This type of storytelling that Alan Jackson does makes it easy for everyone to enjoy his kind of music. It's got a little something for everyone out there. Outside of the storytelling, the song has a basic melody throughout. It has a basic beat and doesn't have any instrumental solos that stand out. It's something that you'd want to listen to on a mellow summer day. Not the type of song that I see hyping the crowd up. It's more of a song that would be played on a Friday night drive cruising main. Upbeat but not all up in your face like some songs can be.
Morgan! I found your blog! I hope all is well and you had a good break from school! The king Alan Jackson, is honestly the best and this is one of my favorite older country songs! I love the story about this song because.. well I've actually seen a similar situation happen to people in my life. Plus, Alan's voice just makes the song, and if anyone else, even me, could not sing this song like my guy Alan. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I also chose this song for this week. I love it! I definitely agree with what you said about the beat being pretty basic but that’s what I love about it. It’s a fun song but it’s really chill and like you said, would be perfect for driving down main, especially in a small town like the one I grew up in. Anything sung by Alan Jackson is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHi Morgan, your blog is really cool! I am not a huge fan of country music, but I actually liked this song. I like that it is a typical country love story about a city girl and country song. The song has a basic melody and beat but it fits the song great.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog layout! Super cute! I'm not a huge country person, but I love the way that you described the song because I feel like I would actually listen to it. I also like that you shared the message of the song because love stories are my favorite! Thank you for sharing!
